Busy Art

Here is a 3 minute video of the little guy to show his smiles and coos. In the video you can see how he moves now and also how the dog interacts with him. When I was looking for a song for the video, Art was crying, but stopped when this one played. He knows how to pick them!

The Fall Celebrations Begin

It was a very busy weekend with the fall celebrations. On Saturday night, Art and I went to Aunt Ilene's and Uncle Doug's for the 12th annual pumpkin carving party. It was difficult to compete this year because the little guy can be demanding. Here's a picture with Gigi and the little ones.

We also went to Burt's Farm for a hayride and to see a pumpkin patch.

He slept through the hayride!

Rowan with the big pumpkins.

VT Tailgating

We tailgated this weekend for the homecoming game against Virginia Tech. Brian's family came into town to join in the fun! It seemed to be unseasonably cold, but it was easy to forget about with the great company and great setup. It was so nice to see everyone!

The day was even better with a W against the number 4 team!

Trip to the Mall

We were supposed to go to the pumpkin patch on Thursday with my mom, aunt, cousin, her kids, sister-in-law and neice, but it rained so we went to the mall instead. I never knew there was so much for parents to do with their kids! The kids had a good time and we liked hanging out. Art sat around like usual.

2 Month Doctor Visit

Here are some pictures from Art's recent doctor's visit. He graduated from the newborn specialist so we saw a different doctor. At 2 months, he weighs 10 pounds 9 ounces which is the 25th percentile and measured 23.25 inches long which is in the 75th percentile. He's long and skinny! The doctor was impressed with his sit up skills (I'll get a video up soon). She thinks he will be an early walker. He may have to change his nickname from Spike to Muscles! (She asked if we were early walkers. Parents, any idea on when Brian and I started walking?)

His skin is getting more pale as well. It looks like his beautiful olive tone was actually jaundice and not his Italian roots!

The poor kid got two immunizations today. It is tough not to tear up when he is in pain! He cried all the way to the car and even on the ride home. He loves the car and his car seat so he must have been hurting!

Exercise Time!

One of the things that I really miss doing is getting outside to run. When Art was born, the newborn specialist said we could only go outside if the temperature was below 80 degrees (tough to come by in August in Georgia). There is little to do with an infant to get a decent workout and walking seems so slow compared to running. Brian gave me a jogging stroller as an early Christmas present so we can burn some calories. We tried it out today and Art enjoys it as much as the other stroller. I have no excuses for not training!

Early Mornings

We started getting our regular routine together to see if it will help him learn how to fall asleep. It has helped wonderously because we know when he gets tired and can put him in his bed. He will lay quietly and actually fall asleep. He has also started sleeping really well at night. On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights, he slept from 11-7! It really helps me during the day because I actually get a full night's sleep. Here's Art waiting for Dad to finish getting ready so he could kiss him goodbye before he had to go to work.

Football Weekend

Football weekends are always enjoyable. We usually relax while Brian watches all of the games. Last weekend, Art was fighting sleep so we decided to snuggle.

8 weeks

We took Art to get some pictures taken at 6 weeks old and just got them back this week. He did ok for a little bit, but he was either hot or hated the studio and got really angry. We got through about 20 pictures (most of which we didn't like). We'll be taking more at different milestones and hopefully we can pull off a good family photo. Choosing clothes seems to be a difficult task.
Things have been good. We keep busy all week long and look forward to Daddy returning home from work each night. He loves the car and carseat and has taken many trips out in public. We hope to get out more and maybe meet with some other people with infants so we can have future playdates.

Some cute pictures

I was able to catch a smile with my blackberry. He coos and talks to us now.
Just hanging out.

Sleeping in his bed. It takes some patience to get him to sleep. We are going to have to work on that this week!

First Tailgate

Here's Art's first tailgate last weekend when we played UNC. Art got a little hot so he had to take some clothes off! The picture looks a little funny, but Daddy is trying to burp him.
