This is Where Gigi's Book Is Printed?

Last week, we had an adventure on our way to San Antonio for Art's cousin Ryan's Baptism. Our first stop was in Memphis where we saw Wimmer Publishers.  Gigi picked up some of her new tips books and we took a tour of the factory.  It was cool to see how a 4 color book printer works.

We also drove by the old house in Germantown and hung out with some family friends for the evening.  I realized that I hadn't been back to Memphis since we moved 18 years ago!

Play Time

Here are a few pictures of Arthur playing at the soft play area at Town Center Mall.

Not sure what this face is all about.

There is a train that gives rides around.  Each time it started, he stopped what he was doing to watch.

This slide kept him busy for a little while. He slid down it and then ran around to climb right back up and do it again.

A Sick Check-Up

He kept tugging at his ears last Sunday and continued to do so the next day on Monday so I decided to take him to the doctor.  He has had a runny nose since the previous Sunday so I thought his ears may have gotten clogged.  Of course, after a last minute appointment and long drive to the doctor, he was all clear. Wonderful...

Here is the little patient playing quietly.

Tattoo, Anyone?

We visited the doctor for his 18 month appointment.  I let him draw with the pen while we waited.  He was a little haphazard.

The doctor visit went well although they completely screwed up his height (Don't ask...). They said he was 33 inches which is completely wrong.  He's probably around 31.75 inches. He now weighs about 24 pounds.  I am pretty sure he is at 50% for both height and weight.  My little average kid...but not average in my heart.

My Cowboy

"The stars at night
are big and bright.
Deep in the heart of Texas!"

This is at home, but I thought the song was fitting.  If only I thought of putting his cowboy boots on!

Art's First Art

I was sitting at dinner one day and stopped mid-sentence to see the nice coloring on the wall. Apparently, Art took hold of a green crayon and made his own wall "Art."

I have no idea where the green crayon is now and have no idea when he did this!

My Baby

Even after 18 months, I still call him my baby.
He picked this up when we were watching Shayla one day.  I thought it was funny that he liked it.

Super Bowl = Super Fun

We decided last minute to invite a few friends over to the house to watch the Super Bowl.  There wasn't much watching going on with these two cuties.

I played with Emma for a few minutes and then put her on Art's firetruck.  Art didn't know what to think and even attempted at pushing her off.  He quickly got over that and started pushing her around.

If you look through every one of these photos, you will notice that Emma looks at the camera and smiles EVERY time.  My son, not so much.

Her mom had the camera for all of these shots.

Cool Dude

Arthur, Gigi, and I met Nanny, Aunt Kathleen, and Aunt Ilene for lunch on Wednesday. Nanny had an eye appointment so she had some sweet shades that were perfect for Arthur.  I think it is one of the most fabulous gifts she's given to him.

Check out the cool dude.

Dinner in a Cup

His porcelain bowl was in the dishwasher so he got to eat his Spaghettios out of a mug.

He loved it and it was an easy cleanup!

Gym Time

Since we are trapped indoors, we visit some local baby playplaces.  First, is one of our favorites, Champion Kids.
Out of everything there, the huge slide, balance beam, baby rollercoaster, trampoline, he wanted to go up and down on this stairway thingy. Really, all it is is a set of three stairs with a rail.

Here's the gym at a glance. They have a big red cheese just like the blue one that I used to tumble on when I was 3 or so. The blowup slide in the background is huge and sooo much fun!

Here's us at Kangazoom, an indoor bouncy house place.

He loved walking on these things.
Not sure what to think about the bouncy house.  Of course, I had to get in there with him to make sure he was ok... :)

Very similar to the stuff in the malls.

Honey, I Love You Beary Much

These will be good for embarassment when he's a teenager.  ;)

Yes, I got him to kiss the bear. He's a kisser now and is so sweet. However, sometimes if I ask for a kiss, he gives me his cheek or forehead.  I don't always get a kiss on the lips.

He gives out hugs, too.

Finish it off with a big cheesy smile!

I Hate Cold Weather

I am really wishing for a hot, humid Georgia day here.  Luckily, Punxsutawaney Phil is calling for an early spring.  I love you little groundhog...

MMM, Donuts

We met a friend and her baby for breakfast one morning at Dunkin' Donuts.  I was guilty of ordering two donuts because I figured Art would indulge in one of them.  He refused to eat the pieces I placed on his placemat, BUT when I gave him the entire donut, he dug right in!

He fought me and wouldn't give it back. This is about how much he ate before I had to rip it out of his hands. Guess he just wanted to be a big boy.

Heh-whoa

He knows exactly what to do with the phone, but he also does this with remote controls.

When I was watching Shayla one day, I showed him a picture of Daddy that he sent us. He thought Brian was on the phone and said "heh-whoa." I knew I had to call him at work. I put Art on the phone, but he just smiled and was so excited to hear his voice. He doesn't talk much to the person on the other end of the phone.
