Workin' 9 to 5

Brian had to go into work on Saturday so we ran some errands at the nearby mall.  It was a gorgeous day so it was nice to get out of the house and get some things accomplished.

Art is laughing at the dog in this photo.

Since our home is on the market, we had a showing. The dog even came to the office as well!

I love how he is lounging with his feet on the crossbar. His shirt says "Dad Loves Me."  He sure does!

Baby of the Week

Here are some photos from last week.

A past co-worker from THD came to visit. Amy now lives in Mobile and we were excited that she could drop by.

Papa Jim with his two grandchildren. Art's sweatshirt says "Papa's Buddy."

Art practicing with his sippy cup.  I think he wants the camera though.

He's just rolling around on the floor.

Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?

He gets really fussy and frustrating in the late afternoons. He loves watching TV so last week, I decided to let him watch Sesame Street in his bouncy seat. He loved it, but he wanted to make sure I was still around. I had to get a photo of him because it was too cute.

Life is a Highway

I heard there was some technical difficulties from the original video. I made a few changes so hopefully it works this time.

New Finds

Art is my training partner. It has been in the 30s this week so we haven't been able to run as much.  Brian and I completed a half marathon last week so we need to keep training.  We found a baptist church that has an indoor track and is nice enough to allow visitors to use it for free.  It takes 13 laps to complete a mile, but it sure beats freezing outdoors! Art accompanied me on a walk one day.  Here he is in the umbrella stroller.

There was also a Zumba class going on so it kept me motivated.  The ladies doing the class were entertaining as well (shaking their booties) so it kept me excited about walking.  I had something to watch!

Art's First Snow

I know our storm wasn't nearly as bad as what Virginia got hit with.  You have to understand though, Atlanta has no clue how to deal with the snow.  They cancelled schools BEFORE anything came through.  We didn't have to visit the store, but I am sure the shelves were void of bread and milk.   Luckily, Art has all he needs right here.

The 3 or so inches of snow are pretty, but hopefully, it won't turn to ice.  Atlanta will be crippled!

Happy Valentine's Day

Here are some buddies from his new playgroup. We found a group on meetup.com for babies born after June 2009. They are all around his age.
Isn't this the CUTEST thing you have ever seen?  I smile when I look at this picture.
(From left to right: Jack born Nov, Ella born Aug, Jace born July, Brooke born June, ART born Aug, Ethan born July)

Brooke and Ethan are my small playgroup buddies.  Ethan loves posing for the camera.

Today we decorated sugar cookies for Dad.  We are taking a break here to feed Art lunch. He loves smashed bananas.

Training Day

Now that Art is able to roll over, we had to remove the swaddle blanket from his sleep routine.  He used to sleep like a mummy with his arms securely by his side.  Since he wouldn't be able to flip himself back over, we had to teach him how to sleep without one.  We had to begin sleep training all over again, but it only took one day.  He looks so cute asleep.  The pictures are dark, because I didn't want to wake him!

Now that his arms are free, he tries to grab the mobile.  We'll have to take that apart soon. He also plays wiht the mirror in his crib.  I thought he could keep himself more occupied in the morning but that didn't work.  His new wake time is 7 AM.
The new way he sleeps.  He flipped on his belly here.

Here's how he used to sleep.

Out-of-Towners

Milagros (one of my bridesmaids) came into town from Philly with her two little ones and we were able to get together.  Nicolas was born in October of last year so they are going to be good buddies once they can move around!  This was their first time back since before he was born so we met a new little one!

Sylvia is 2 1/2 and LOVES babies.  She was so cute with them.  She wore Art's sunglasses inside.

Changes

It has been another wonderfully exciting week.  Art had his 6 month doctor visit (complete with 3 shots :( ).  He now weighs 15 lbs 12 ozs which is the 20th percentile and is 27 inches long which is the 75th percentile!  He's still long and skinny, but loves to eat.  The doctor gave us the go ahead on eating solids twice per day.  He now eats lunch and dinner from a spoon.  I also read that I no longer am his main food source.

He has been TONS of fun.  We love hanging out and he is completely attached to me.  It is both flattering and frustrating.

Solids at lunch.  He was laughing because I was reprimanding the dog. He sits well in his high chair now and doesn't lean forward quite as much.  No teeth yet!

Born a Travelling Man

We just travelled to Tybee Island, GA last week to compete in a half marathon. We enjoyed the company, but there is nothing like being back at home. We were able to visit Savannah as well while we were down there. Here are a few pictures of Art on a private boat. It was a little tough to look around with the stroller on board so we pretty much just hung out.

It was chilly and Art was sleepy. The travelling sleep sheep is a new favorite of Art's!

Arthur Laughing

Here's a video for those days when you think things just aren't going your way...

The video is a little dark, but Art is laughing at one of Rowan's baby dolls.
